Purchase a copy of "Chickens of the Sea," a film by Steve Furman. You can also watch the trailer on YouTube.

Most of the native prairie in North America is gone, and prairie chickens are rare, but if you're lucky enough to find them, they're fun to watch! "Chickens of the Sea" features two films: a 7-minute kids version and a 20-minute extended version.

Visit Minnesota Public Radio's website and read "Researchers' efforts helping revive prairie chicken population.' You can also listen to the audio version of the story as it aired and watch "In Search of Prairie Chickens," a short video by MPR reporter Dan Gunderson. Watch as he joins a night time hunt for prairie chickens on the Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge near Crookston.
